After a schedule change due to the unpredictable Hanover weather, the DWRC crushed Middlebury 40-5. The big green came out determined to defend the home pitch at their first home game of the season. The first few minutes of the game were a little slow for the DWRC but then huge striking runs through the centers and 8-man pick ups gave them their scoring momentum. Middlebury had some great tackling throughout the game but Dartmouth was able to slip by them enough to come out on top. (see full game summary here)

Dartmouth A's remain undefeated in UNH's Scott Milley Memorial 7s Tournament to take home 1st Place and Dartmouth B's come in third overall. The A's dominated their pool even as they shook out the 15s cobwebs and shifted to 7s principles, while the B's made significant improvement in every match as they implemented recently-learned 7s concepts for the first time. Dartmouth defeated Harvard 20-12 in a contentious second match of the Ivy League Final Four Tournament. The DWRC came to the field ready to play and opened strongly to put three tries on the board before the end of the first half but Harvard's tenacity challenged Dartmouth and the Big Green found itself flagging in the middle of the match. However, Dartmouth maintained a good defense and showcased strong scrums to come out on top after an aggressive 80 minutes.

The DWRC fell 47-10 to Brown in the first match of the Ivy League Final Four Tournament in Providence, RI. Brown's aggressive and organized defense limited scoring opportunities for the Big Green and their rucking skills prevented the DWRC from developing consecutive offensive phases. The Dartmouth defense struggled to contain Brown's strong runners in the first half but showed great improvement in the second half - the first half ended at 37-10 while the second half was tied 10-10.

The DWRC will head to Providence, RI on Friday for the Ivy League Final Four Tournament this Saturday (3/30) and Sunday (3/31). Dartmouth will face Brown University at Brown on Saturday at 12 PM on Marvel Field (directions here). Our second match will be on Sunday at 11 AM or 1 PM - we'll keep you updated! This will be our ONLY spring match in the Boston/NY area so come out to see us!

Dartmouth faced a 5-40 loss against the University of Victoria in our final match of tour. In our third game in just six days, the DWRC was fatigued and could not contain the University of Victoria's speedy players. However, the scrimmage was an excellent opportunity to work on our defense against a talented team and the DWRC's hard work showed results - the first half ended at 0-28 while the second half's score was 5-12. With plenty of tough game experience over tour, we're excited to return to Dartmouth and kick off our spring season with the Ivy League Final Four Tournament!

Dartmouth fell 0-22 in a tough battle against the Nanaimo Hornets in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Nanaimo's strong offense and aggressive defense proved difficult for the DWRC to break down, but after a great practice today we're excited to take on the University of Victoria at 5 PM tomorrow!

Our winter training paid off when the DWRC defeated the University of Washington 29-0 in our first match of tour. We're thrilled to be back on the pitch together and especially proud of our freshmen for the incredible talent they showed in the game! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us!
March 14 - March 23, 2013: Spring Tour
The DWRC is going on Spring Tour to the Pacific Northwest. We will be traveling around Seattle and Vancouver, and will be playing against three great teams. If you're in the area, come see us play!

Dartmouth is working hard this week to prepare to end our XV season with a big win against Cornell in a challenge match this weekend. The game will be played Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1:00 PM at Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse, 9 Reservoir Road.
